Hello!

Great game! Are you planning to rescale the game to moder terminals like HTC HD2 800x480 screens?

More colors of sand or editable quantity of falling sand would be nice!

thanks!

@bobdaduck
pocketSand has been developed by using a cross-platform framework that's not intended to be released, thus the game code could be really of little use.
Anyway i'm currently considering opensourcing both the framework, pocketSand and some other things i coded with it, i doubt i'll have time to maintain this software anymore.

So. Best game ever, development has stopped. I recommend making it open source. This would mean someone would grab it and continue development, and we would all be happy to see that. It would also mean that there would suddenly be more then one pocketsand game out there for windows mobile.

I also would love to see this updated and more options added, I know on some web versions you can stop certain sands from falling (i normally stop salt) thus freeing up resources for more complex contraptions (way to much time put into playing this but I love it on my HTC Titan and HTC Rapheal (Sprint Mogul/TouchPro)

Hi!

I really love this game! its just pure fun!
Good time killer, nice interface, and nice graphics!

Running great on my HTC Touch Diamond

A few suggestions for newer versions:
* About the acid: I think acid melts metal! (correct me if im wrong)
so an idea: Glass :) a new material which can't be melted by acid but for example can be melted by fire (big fire :))
(* and you can also make some other new materials too)
* sometimes its hard to start an "oil-burn-chain-reaction" :D so sometimes the fire wont spread over/in the oil... i dont know if it is a purpose or not.
* I agree with Billy on the help file... at least a tooltip about the materials can be nice. Actually i think i figured everything out, but again it would be helpful. (eg: http://yfrog.com/0wpocketsandmanualj )
* It would be nice to have a minimize option! (although I can use the diamonds home button to minimize apps)
* Ability change background color/picture
* A ruler/line drawer, because some shapes looks weird when drew by hand.
* Sound effects

Best regards and keep up with your good work! And thanx again for this wonderful game!

Hi Zaid, thank you for trying it out and taking the time to report it back here: unfortunately for me, i'm currently not making *any* living out of it, i can say everything on this blog is just free time experiments, here is why there aren't so much ;)
pocketSand was meant as a project for research in the mobile field: at the time Philipp and i were developing a game for various platforms (not just Windows Mobile) and we are still wondering when we'll be able to start development again; too bad we don't think we'll be able to do game development anytime soon and surely Rollbot, which we expected to sell at least the bare minimum to cover development expenses, just sold a grand total of 15/20 copies (!), didn't really help us.
We love making games and we would love to make a living out of it, we'll see how the current year is going to be for us.

Very nice software, nice GUI, intuitive, so simple, so small, so fast. Seems to run just fine of my HTC Touch HD and on an older HTC P3600.

I hope you are making a good living out of writing software for the Windows Mobile platform. It would be really a waste otherwise.

Again, bravo!

well, not sure if you still read this or not, it's been awhile since the last post. I really like the sand game, and pocket sand seemed perfect, but when i installed it to my at&t tilt (kaiser) it starts up but then slows completely when the sand comes down the screen...then i have to do a soft shutdown just to get out of it...any ideas as to what is slowing it down so much?

PocketSand is a -great- time killer, i wish there were more games like this out..
One thing though, theres no help file on what exactly all the buttons are supposed to be..

For example, ive been trying to figure out what the green droplet icon is.. It eats away at everything but water and steel.. What could it be, acid? Why is acid that light green colour? lol..

Im also unsure about the white sand.. is it snow?
And the oil can.. dosnt seem to burn as well as the tree icon does.. if it was oil/gas i would think it would burn better..
and the brown sand i assume is just.. dirt..

A help file or simple explanation would be great!
